Thermal spray industry application

Types of cooperation projects: key parts of the manufacturing industry, key parts of production equipment in the new energy field, key parts of the petroleum industry, key parts of the civil aviation field, etc.

As one of the important surface engineering technologies, thermal spraying technology uses flame, arc, plasma, compressed gas and other heat sources or power sources to heat and accelerate a certain composition of linear or powdery materials to form melting, semi-melting or non-melting. A method of melting and solid high-speed particle streams, spraying them to the substrate and depositing them continuously to form a coating. After more than 20 years of research, the Institute of New Materials, Guangdong Academy of Sciences has successively developed high-temperature oxidation and thermal corrosion resistant coatings, high-temperature heat insulation and ablation resistant coatings, and environmentally friendly wear-resistant ceramic coatings and ceramic coatings that replace hard chromium electroplating. Grinding carbide coatings, conductive and insulating coatings, ceramic-based anti-stick coatings, lubricating and wear-resistant coatings and other high-performance coatings, and developed metal parts repair and remanufacturing coating technology. These coatings are widely used in key components of helicopter engines and transmission systems, long-life corrugated rollers, high-precision environmentally friendly anilox rollers, solvent-free composite coating rollers, power lithium battery pole piece rollers, civil aviation components, oil drilling components, etc. In terms of key components, good economic and social benefits have been achieved.

(1) Gas engine key coating preparation technology and key component coating maintenance: For the long-term service of China's "two-engine" aero engine and ground gas turbine at high temperatures, there is an urgent need to develop high-temperature protective coating technology, and focus on the research of engine resistance to high temperatures. Oxidation and thermal barrier functional coatings, engine and gas turbine sealing/lubricating functional coatings, engine damping coatings: the working temperature of the anti-high temperature oxidation and thermal corrosion coating can reach 1150℃, and the thermal barrier coating has a thermal conductivity coefficient of less than 1W/ mK, thermal shock resistance life of more than 2000 times; develop low, medium and high temperature abradable coatings and wear-resistant sealing coatings, carry out engineering application research of abradable sealing and wear-resistant sealing coatings; adopt EB- PVD, supersonic plasma spraying and other technologies to prepare Fe-Cr series; Sn-MgO, Sn-Cr-MgO series and other damping coatings to meet the needs of gas turbine engine compressor and turbine components.

Research and develop maintenance technologies for key components of gas turbines, including deposition and removal of coatings such as high-temperature oxidation and thermal corrosion coatings, thermal barrier coatings, sealing coatings, high-temperature wear-resistant coatings, and medium- and low-temperature wear-resistant coatings Technology, related heat treatment technology and non-destructive testing technology, as well as maintenance technology for key parts; at the same time, a series of related process parts will be established; corresponding equipment and means will be established to construct corresponding supersonic flame spraying, plasma spraying, Low-pressure plasma spraying and other surface treatment production lines, gas turbine key parts maintenance production lines, and key parts mechanical processing production lines; finally, a nationwide demonstration base for the new surface treatment of gas turbine key parts and international subcontracting and maintenance of aviation components will be formed.

(2) High-end marine engineering equipment key parts protection and remanufacturing technology: focusing on the combined effects of marine equipment key parts in the ocean, such as strong corrosion, wear resistance, or high temperature oxidation/corrosion, carry out surface strengthening and remanufacturing of marine key parts Technology research; adopt advanced thermal spraying technology (plasma spraying, supersonic flame spraying and cold spraying, etc.) to develop a series of coatings against seawater cavitation corrosion, erosion, and galvanic corrosion protection, and carry out research on the remanufacturing of key parts , And finally realize the engineering application of the coating.


(3) Wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant functional coating and its application technology: around the core components of mechanical engineering equipment in strong wear and corrosion, according to the working conditions, the mechanical equipment coating material and structure are designed, using supersonic plasma Spraying, supersonic flame spraying, low-temperature supersonic flame spraying and cold spraying technologies are used to carry out research on high-performance wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant and other functional coatings, focusing on in-depth research on the engineering application of coatings.

(4) Development and application of functional coatings for high-end household appliances: With the continuous improvement of the requirements of household appliances, various functional coatings such as ceramic-based anti-stick coatings, metal-based magnetic conductive coatings, anti-electromagnetic radiation and other functional coatings Layer applications are becoming more and more widespread in high-end household appliances in China and Germany, but currently these areas are monopolized by foreign countries. Use thermal spray technology to research and develop high-performance wear-resistant, anti-stick ceramic-based coatings and anti-electromagnetic radiation coatings, and use cold spray technology to develop magnetically conductive coatings. Cooperate with relevant enterprises in the province to carry out joint technical research and realize the application of coating technology.

(5) Wear-resistant coatings for automobile engines and their applications: Aiming at the development of lightweight aluminum alloy cylinders, the development of wear-resistant coatings on the surface of engine cylinders on the inner surface of lightweight aluminum alloy cylinders can improve the performance of the cylinders on the premise of realizing lightweight. Service life, reduce energy consumption, effectively promote the leapfrog development of key components of low-energy vehicles, and promote the realization of my country's "low-carbon economy" strategic goals better and faster.


(6) High-performance insulating ceramic coating and engineering: mainly for high-performance corona rollers, insulated bearings, bottom electrodes of insulating substrates used in liquid crystal production lines, and insulating parts used in plasma etching machines in semiconductor production lines, to develop high-performance and high-purity The large-area and stable preparation technology of alumina and high-purity yttria ceramic coatings forms a complete set of mature engineering production technologies for corona rollers and insulated bearings, and a pilot production line for insulating coatings for semiconductor and liquid crystal production.
